Yup, that's right! After almost 7 months of waiting, the new remix pack is out. You can find it on the Precursors pages as always. Medieval Future made 4 of the 9 new remixes, plus one bonus track under additional releases. Enjoy!

There are some problems with sessions on the Precursors webpages. Accessing the music or artist pages will lead to a "This page cannot be accessed directly" error. Just remain patient, and we'll get this fixed ASAP.


Downtime

Due to a controlled power outage at the local university, where our server is, and some hardware upgrades, the site was down for about two days. This server had over 340 days of uptime before this happened, so we have no fear it's going to happen again anytime soon. But we'll see...


New Precursors site

For the last few days, we've been hard at work designing and coding new pages for the Precursors, the official remixing team for the Ur-Quan Masters project. VOiD and I are half of this team, so we decided that it would be practical to host the Precursors pages here, at medievalfuture.com.

The new pages have a lot of great features for anyone interested in Star Control 2 or in our music. They can be found at www.medievalfuture.com/precursors. Make sure you sign the guestbook. :)


MySQL!

I finally took the step from file-based storage of data to MySQL. As a result, some of the layout on this site has changed. It's worth it though, at least for me. :)

In other news, we're slowly starting to work on the Ur-Quan Masters remixes again. Next up is the Ur-Quan Hierarchy of Battle Thralls. Lots of good (and by good, I mean evil) stuff there.

Status report

Two of the remix packages for the UQM projects are released, two more to go. Nice to see all the positive reactions to our work, keep it coming!

We are now about to change hosts for this site, the switch will take place on 22 November, and it may take a day or two to get things up and running again. But be patient! Once the switch is done, some of our music will be put out here for your listening pleasure.

I've replaced the manual news system with an automatic one, which should make news updates easier, and more importantly, they should happen more frequently.

If you for some reason managed to catch a glimpse of the browser selection-screen that appeared before the main page, you'll be pleased to know that it has been replaced with an autodetection system.

Finally uploaded the new page design! Not much interesting stuff here as of yet, but at least there's a biography of the two of us.

Currently, we are involved in remixing music from the classic 1992 PC game, Star Control 2 for a definitive fan edition which will be called The Ur-Quan Masters, and will be playable on new PCs. So far, we've submitted six pieces of music, including the theme music to Zoq-Fot-Pik and the Slylandro Probes. Things we are in the process of making include the main starbase theme (the main menu), as well as the themes for races Arilou, Slylandro and the Ur-Quan. At the moment, none of these are available for download, but they will be when the project is finished.
