Title: Melee! - The Battle of the Sa-Matra
Remix Pack: 1 - Super Melee!
Track #: 5
Length: 3:04
Remixed by: Jouni Airaksinen
Original written by: Dan Nicholson
Remix of: FIGHT.MOD
Comments: When I made this remix I wanted to give the song a feeling of hope and despair like in the final struggle with the Sa-Matra. Personally I like the bassline quite much - it's tight and punchy.

This song is worthy of a final fight. Awesome!

Like Stephen said, I like the Star Trek bridge sound... nice job!

I like it, I also like the idea of having different battle music for differenct times. The "red alert" priceless, you just can't help but think about the bridge in a panic. I'm getting excited to play this game again.

Well Done! Star Trek TOS era sounds. Godda love it. If at all the music can dynamically play faster or slower on how the fight is going that would be so awesome.

If that is not possible than it must be somewhat faster.

To get an idea use Windows Media Player and set the play speed at fast.

Great job!

I especially like the star-trek sound effects in the background, for that wierd spacy-sci-fi effect...

Quite nice. Indeed one of the better remixes. The only minor thing I can say about it is that maybe it makes a bit TOO much use of the startrek ping-sound and the alarm-sound. I have nothing against repeating, but all in moderation, I would say. And also, maybe, as some guys have said it's not quite dramatic enough for the final battle.

But still, with some slight tweaking, it would form very good music for some battle. :-)

The old-school Star Trek sensor sound! What a great idea to incorporate it into the mix. My only problem with this mix is that it seems a little too slow for fights -- and I agree, it doesn't feel quite dramatic enough for a "final boss battle" like the Sa-Matra. However, like with the Hyperspace music, if this mix could be interchanged with various other battle mixes during the game, it would fit in there really well.

Wow. What an impressive remix. I agree with a previous writer, it should be a final battle music scenario, but it is really intense altogether. I think this is one of the better SC2 music remixes I have heard.

There's atleast two different unreleased battle remixes still waiting. One by Espen and one by me.

Well, having actually played the game (UQM, on WinXP) with this as the general battle music, I can say that it actually works quite well. Originally, I never noticed the battle music, but with this version in I find myself subconsciously rocking out to it while I'm fighting. An excellent job on this song.

Personally, I don't think it's dramatic enough to be used for the Sa-Matra battle.

This could be good in the final battle. But it is way too complicated to be used in the background of all battles. I think you should limit your usage of crash symbals. I really don't like them going that often (maybe also because they sound bad and are too loud). You can get a tighter feeling without overusing the cymbals. Good remix altogeter, except maybe the 303 sound is too old schtool. (i know you like to call the remixes modern, but in fact they are everything but modern)
