Could be better and it is not good enough. I like up to 0:36 then good at 0:45 to 0:59. At 0:59 there is this high pitch sounds (like wewewewe) which may sound cool to some but to me is is just ruins the song and should go. I would say that almost all if not all of those high pitch sounds (like wewewewe) should go and once those are removed overall the song would be much better. Your on the right track. Keep it up.

Well, I would qualify it as about on the same lavel as the original. It is very similar too, especially in the beginning.

I think maybe I like the original a little bit better, but I must be careful not to let my judgement be influenced by the fact I'm used to the original. (though for the deep-space encounter, I had no probs with it, apparently ;-)

the key change would sound fine if the music reverted to the original key afterwards to play the theme one more time... then it'd be perfect.

This is one rare instance where I like the 3DO remix a bit more than the new mix; there just isn't anything to set the new one apart, and that "off-key sampling" thing at the end is really jarring, I agree.

Sounds well; keeps well with the original. Only thing that bothers me is the last 20 seconds of the song - it sounds completely out of tune. Obviously that was on purpose, but it ruins the song.
I even remember few such occasions of hearing this kind of 'remixing style' (taking a segment out of tune) in clubs and TV.. it was horrible then, and it taints the song now.
